November 2008:
Grant Is Used To
Purchase Machine To Boost Production At Winners Circle
Soil

Rethceif Packaging has been very busy this past year
manufacturing high quality form, fill and seal packaging
equipment to meet the needs of various companies. This
fall, Rethceif Packaging built a machine to package
woodshavings for Winners Circle Soil in Taylor, Arizona.
In an article posted in the Silver Creek Herald, the
benefits of the RethPack were explained:
Winners Circle Soil has received a $250,000 grant from
the United States Forest Service, and used it to
purchase a Rethceif packaging machine. The machine
packaged 1,170 bales in four hours and 18 minutes on the
first day of production, Monday, Sept. 29. ‘This is
typically three days work for us,’ said Bill Baldwin. He
noted that they previously processed wood products into
fine or coarse product, which is a mix to accommodate
more customers. They would use the loader to blend the
product, but with their new equipment, the product is
mixed and is a more uniform product.
…Winners Circle Soil officials have looked for ways to
cut costs. Increased production from the packing machine
will make a big difference.
Baldwin explained that they have gone on a 10-hour day,
four-day week schedule, and are seeing a reduction in
costs (Hatch, 2008).
